Do You Need Help With Anger Control?

What makes you angry? Some people can answer this question rather easily, but the answers are not always as simple as they may seem. The anger you feel when something goes wrong is often a mask for something else. You have to dig a little deeper to find out what is really going on, and why you have triggers for anger that don’t seem to make any sense. I know that when I think I need anger control is mostly when something wants to pop out of my mouth spontaneously. I have learned to stop the words from coming out at all. I then step away and think about it, only to find that I really don’t want to say it in the first place. This type of controlling anger has worked well for me in many cases, though it is not perfect.

Finding out more about anger in general, and what some of your specific triggers might be, can help you in your personal quest for anger control. However, when the root of your anger is something that is dark and troubling, you may need to find a therapist to help you single out what is causing your pain and making you lash out. When you know this, you can then fight it to change your life for the better. There are also some really good books on anger control and finding your peace again. These can be a great investment when therapy is not an option.
